New Music Releases: Deep Purple, Van Halen, and More - A Look at the Latest Albums and Reissues

Deep Purple is releasing a super deluxe edition of their iconic live album "Made in Japan," featuring new stereo and Dolby ATMOS mixes by Steven Wilson. The box set includes the original album, three shows from Osaka and Tokyo, and edited singles. Meanwhile, Van Halen's expanded edition of "Balance" includes previously unreleased live tracks and additional songs from the Twister soundtrack. Other artists with new releases today include Electric Light Orchestra, the Jerry Garcia Band, Jethro Tull, Pretenders, and UFO.
Among the new releases today are vinyl reissues of Billy Idol's albums, an expanded 30th-anniversary deluxe edition of The Cranberries' "No Need to Argue," and a remastered reissue of Pretenders' "The Singles." Additionally, Stephen Bishop's album "THIMK" features collaborations with Sting, Eric Clapton, and other artists. Later in August, expect releases from John Fogerty, Oasis, The Who, and more.
In September, upcoming releases include David Byrne's "Who Is the Sky?" in various formats, Joni Mitchell's "Joni's Jazz" in a 4CD box set, and David Bowie's "I Can't Give Everything Away" in a 12CD or 18LP box. Foghat's "Fool for the City" will see an expanded anniversary reissue, and Foreigner's "Foreigner 4" will have a super deluxe anniversary edition. Led Zeppelin's "Physical Graffiti" will receive a 50th-anniversary deluxe edition, and Genesis' "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" will have a 50th-anniversary super deluxe edition. Other releases include music from Grateful Dead, Spinal Tap, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, and more.
