Power to the People: John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Early Years in New York City

A new 12-disc collection titled Power to the People will be released on October 10 by Universal Music Group, showcasing John Lennon and Yoko Ono's early years in New York City. This extensive box set includes 90 previously unreleased recordings, offering fans a deep dive into the couple's creative process through demos, home recordings, and live performances, including material from their 1972 One to One shows at Madison Square Garden.
Power to the People also features a reimagined version of their 1972 album, Sometime in New York City, providing a fresh perspective on their politically charged and sonically innovative work. The project, credited to John & Yoko/Plastic Ono Band, highlights the contributions of their collaborators like Elephant’s Memory and Invisible Strings, as well as appearances from artists such as Frank Zappa and David Peel.
Sean Ono Lennon spearheaded the entire project, ensuring a personal and authentic approach to curating and producing these historical recordings.
