West Virginia National Guard to Assist President Trump in Washington, D.C. Safety and Cleanliness Initiative

West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey has announced that the West Virginia National Guard will be assisting President Trump in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of Washington, D.C. This decision follows the state's law enforcement agencies entering agreements with ICE. The WVNG, under the leadership of Maj. Gen. Jim Seward, will deploy 300 to 400 personnel, along with necessary equipment and training, to support the initiative in the nation's capital. The operation will be federally funded and aligns with the Guard's commitment to regional cooperation in the National Capital Region.
