LL Cool J to Host MTV VMA Awards: Star-Studded Lineup and Nominations Revealed
LL Cool J has been announced as the host of the upcoming MTV VMA awards for the second time. He previously hosted the show in 2022 alongside Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow. LL is also nominated for his single “Murdergram Deux” featuring Eminem from his latest album, The Force, released in September 2024. The rapper has a history of memorable moments at music events, including winning his first Moon Person in 1991 and being the first rapper to receive the Video Vanguard Award in 1997.
The lineup of superstar performers at this year's VMAs includes Alex Warren, Busta Rhymes, J. Balvin ft. DJ Snake, Ricky Martin, Sabrina Carpenter, and sombr. Busta Rhymes will be honored with the MTV Rock the Bells Visionary Award, while Ricky Martin will receive the Latin Icon Award. Kendrick Lamar leads the nominations with 11 nods, followed by Bruno Mars with 10 and The Weeknd with seven. Fans can vote for their favorite artists until September 5, with voting for Best New Artist ongoing until the live show.
