Sesame Street Stars Shine at Grand Ole Opry: Elmo and Abby Cadabby's Country Music Debut
Elmo and Abby Cadabby, popular characters from Sesame Street, recently made their debut at the Grand Ole Opry as part of the Opry's 100th anniversary celebration. Elmo teamed up with country singer Lauren Alaina to perform her hit song "Road Less Traveled," while Abby Cadabby sang Loretta Lynn's "You're Lookin' at Country" with Lynn's granddaughter, Tayla Lynn. Elmo, sporting a cowboy shirt and bolo tie, was introduced by Alaina, who made her first Opry appearance since becoming a mother. Abby's performance paid tribute to the late country music icon Loretta Lynn, who had previously appeared on Sesame Street in 1984. This event highlighted the strong connection between country music and Sesame Street, with recent collaborations featuring artists like Chris Stapleton alongside Elmo and other characters. The tradition of country stars appearing on the beloved children's show dates back to icons like Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Johnny Cash, and Faith Hill.
