The Who's North American Tour: Highlights from The Song Is Over Farewell Tour

The Who kicked off their North American leg of The Song Is Over farewell tour at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida. The setlist featured seven tracks from their iconic 1971 album, Who's Next, including the live debut of "Going Mobile," a song about life on the road sung by Pete Townshend.

While "Going Mobile" had been performed by members of The Who in various solo and concert settings, this was the first time it was played at an official Who concert. Simon Townshend, Pete's brother and longtime collaborator with Roger Daltrey, took on the vocals for the song during the performance.

With the addition of "Going Mobile" to their setlist, The Who now have a total of 144 live performances of the song across various concerts. The band has yet to perform Who's Next in its entirety, but with the inclusion of a few more tracks like "Getting In Tune," it could become a reality.

Despite challenges with songs like "My Wife," written and sung by the late John Entwistle, The Who has found creative ways to include songs from departed band members in their performances. The rest of the setlist for The Song Is Over tour includes a mix of hits and deep cuts, showcasing the band's extensive catalog.

The Who's tour will continue in Newark, New Jersey, before wrapping up in Las Vegas in September. Fans can expect a mix of classic tracks and surprises as the band bids farewell on their final tour.
