Times Square Subway Station Evacuated Due to Suspicious Package Investigation

During the morning rush hour on Monday, commuters were asked to leave the Times Square subway station due to a suspicious package investigation. Law enforcement sources reported that a cylinder-style device was found outside the NYPD's substation in Times Square around 10:30 a.m. As a precaution, the 42nd Street Times Square Station, serving multiple subway lines, was evacuated. The NYPD's bomb squad was called to the scene to assess the situation. To ensure safety, Seventh Avenue between West 43rd and 42nd Street was closed off to both pedestrians and vehicles.
