NBA star Tyrese Haliburton recently visited Oshkosh North High School, where he once attended, to organize a basketball camp for local kids and reveal a generous donation to enhance the school's athletic programs. The Indiana Pacers player pledged $3 million over three years to upgrade the school's facilities, with plans to install a new video board and scoreboard in the gymnasium and revamp the weight room. The donation was made public during a ceremony honoring Haliburton's former high school coach, Frank Schade, at the newly named Frank Schade Fieldhouse.
Haliburton, a standout basketball player during his time at Oshkosh North, alongside Jordan McCabe from Kaukauna, was recognized as one of the state's top basketball talents in 2018. McCabe was awarded Mr. Basketball after leading his team to a division 2 state title, while Haliburton guided his team to a division 2 title as well. The donation from Haliburton reflects his commitment to giving back to the community where his basketball journey began.
