USA Hockey's 2026 Olympic Orientation Camp: Building a Strong Team for Milan-Cortina

The United States is gearing up for the 2026 Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy, as USA Hockey has revealed the 44 players invited to the men's Olympic orientation camp. The camp, scheduled for Aug. 26-27 in Plymouth, Mich., will serve as an administrative and team-building event without on-ice activities. Notably, all 23 players from the 4 Nations Face-Off roster have been invited to the camp, including five players with prior Olympic experience.

Among the invitees are familiar names like Auston Matthews, Brady Tkachuk, and Quinn Hughes, who will be part of the orientation camp to prepare for the upcoming Winter Games. The initial six players selected for the 2026 U.S. Olympic men's team were announced in June, with stars like Jack Eichel, Charlie McAvoy, and Matthew Tkachuk making the cut. However, Matthew Tkachuk will miss the camp due to injuries sustained during the 4 Nations Face-Off earlier this year.

The final 25-man roster for the Olympics is set to be unveiled in early January, leading up to the men's Olympic hockey tournament from Feb. 11-22. The last time NHL players participated in the Olympics was in 2014, where Canada clinched its third gold medal in four Games. The orientation camp will bring together a talented group of forwards, defensemen, and goaltenders to prepare for the prestigious event.

The list of invitees for the orientation camp includes a mix of seasoned veterans and promising young talents across all positions. Forwards like Patrick Kane, Kyle Connor, and Dylan Larkin will join forces with defensemen such as Adam Fox, Seth Jones, and Jaccob Slavin. Goaltenders like Connor Hellebuyck and Jeremy Swayman will provide a strong presence between the pipes. With a diverse and skilled roster, Team USA aims to make a strong statement at the 2026 Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy.
