Tragic Double Homicide in Encino: 22-Year-Old Man Faces Murder Charges

A 22-year-old man from Encino is facing murder charges in connection with the shooting deaths of Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca, both 70, inside their home. Raymond Boodarian is charged with two counts of murder and one count of residential burglary with a person present. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will determine whether to seek the death penalty against Boodarian, who has been in custody since his arrest.
The bodies of the victims were discovered in their upscale Encino residence after a welfare check was initiated by an acquaintance who had not heard from the couple for several days. The victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. District Attorney Nathan Hochman expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, emphasizing the tragedy of the senseless killings.
During a community meeting addressing concerns about crime in the area, it was revealed that the victims were killed with their own firearm. An official statement from "American Idol" confirmed the deaths of Robin Kaye and her husband, expressing deep sorrow over the loss. Police believe that Boodarian was burglarizing the residence while the couple was away and remained inside for a period before they arrived home. The suspect was identified through surveillance video from the victims' home. An investigation into the initial police response to the report of an intruder jumping the fence will be conducted by the LAPD.
