African Heritage Festival: Celebrating Culture and Soccer at Ben Washer Park

The African Heritage Festival is set to take place at Ben Washer Park in Louisville, Kentucky on August 22 and 23. This event is a collaboration between the Louisville Metro Office for Immigrant Affairs, Bridge Kids International, Our Place at Ben Washer Park, and The Lou City and Racing Foundation. The festival aims to celebrate the diverse cultures of the African diaspora.

As part of the festival, The LouCity and Racing Foundation will be hosting a free soccer clinic on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The clinic is open to children aged six to 14 and will be led by players from Lou City and Racing. The foundation's goal is to make soccer accessible to individuals from all backgrounds and provide them with the opportunity to learn valuable skills through the sport.

The soccer clinic is just one of the many activities planned for the weekend. Attendees can also enjoy live entertainment, a how-to fair, and arts and crafts for kids. The event promises to be a fun-filled celebration of African heritage and culture.

To participate in the soccer clinic, interested individuals can sign up on the event's website. For more information about the African Heritage Festival and its schedule of events, visit the event's official website.
