Decade of Excellence: Celebrating Syracuse University's Historic National Championships

Syracuse University is gearing up to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their historic National Championships in men's cross-country, field hockey, and men's soccer. The festivities will kick off in September with a series of events honoring the championship teams. The men's cross-country team secured the program's 2nd NCAA title in Louisville, Kentucky, while the field hockey squad made history by winning the first women's NCAA Championship in Syracuse's history with a 4-2 victory over North Carolina in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The men's soccer team also made a mark by advancing to its first College Cup with a 1-0 win over Boston College.
To commemorate the achievements of these championship teams, Syracuse University will host special recognition events during various sports games in September. The 1985 Big East Champion and 2015 ACC Champion men's soccer teams will be honored during the football game against Colgate on September 12th and the men's soccer game against Stanford the following day. The 2015 men's soccer team was the first Syracuse team to reach the College Cup, making their accomplishments even more significant.
The Orange field hockey team will be celebrated on September 26th during the game against Duke, with a special tribute to 2015 Player of the Year Alyssa Manley, whose jersey will be retired. The following day, both the field hockey and men's cross-country teams will be recognized during the football game against Duke on September 27th. Fans can look forward to seeing the NCAA Champions on the field and possibly witnessing the unveiling of new banners in the JMA Dome to honor their titles.
