Northern Ireland's Team to Compete in Homeless World Cup in Oslo Supported by Simon Community NI and Choice Housing

Northern Ireland's team, supported by Simon Community NI and Choice Housing, will participate in the Homeless World Cup in Oslo, along with over 60 countries. The tournament will take place at RÄdhusplassen (City Hall Square) from August 23-30. It is a 4-aside competition with 14-minute games, and each team will play 10-12 matches. The men's team will compete against Italy, Japan, and Hungary, while the women's team will face Mexico, Kenya, Sweden, and Zimbabwe.
Mick, a player with over 10 years of experience in Street Soccer, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent his country. He highlighted the positive impact football has had on his life and looks forward to meeting players from different countries. Street Soccer NI provides free weekly football sessions for over 200 individuals in Northern Ireland, offering support in various areas such as housing, employment, education, and addictions. The organization conducts sessions in Belfast, Londonderry, Saintfield, and Coleraine.
