The Who's Farewell Tour: Roger Daltrey's Altered Lyrics and Uncertain Future

Roger Daltrey is bidding farewell to The Who's fans through altered lyrics in their performance. The band's farewell tour, "The Song Is Over," kicked off in Sunrise, Florida, on Aug. 18. During a concert in Newark, New Jersey, Daltrey changed the lyrics of "The Song Is Over" to express gratitude to the fans. The tour will cover 16 North American cities, concluding in Las Vegas on Sept. 28. While the band performed in Milan, Italy, in July, there are no confirmed plans for a U.K. or European leg of the tour. Daltrey expressed uncertainty about the band's future touring plans, citing the challenges of touring in the U.K. compared to the U.S. Guitarist Pete Townshend has also indicated a lack of enthusiasm for continuing to tour extensively with The Who.
