AMERICANAFEST® Exclusive Programs at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum: A Celebration of Music and Stories
The Americana Music Association® and the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum are teaming up to present exclusive programs during the 25th annual AMERICANAFEST®. The lineup includes engaging sessions such as a conversation and performance featuring Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally, a book talk with Peter Guralnick, a songwriter session with Donovan Woods, and a conversation and performance with Rissi Palmer. These programs will be held in the museum’s Ford Theater.
Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally will kick off the event with "Music and Conversation: The Art of the Storyteller" on Thursday, Sept. 11. They will delve into the stories behind their craft, sharing personal anecdotes and acoustic performances. Clark, known for her Grammy-winning song "Dear Insecurity," has penned hits for artists like Brandi Carlile, Miranda Lambert, and Kacey Musgraves. McAnally, a prolific songwriter and producer, has worked with artists such as Kenny Chesney and Sam Hunt.
On Friday, Sept. 12, author Peter Guralnick will discuss his latest book, "The Colonel and the King: Tom Parker, Elvis Presley, and the Partnership that Rocked the World." Guralnick, renowned for his biographies on Elvis Presley, will provide insights into the dynamic relationship between Presley and manager Colonel Tom Parker.
Donovan Woods will take the stage on Saturday, Sept. 13, for a Songwriter Session. The Canadian artist, known for his award-winning album "Both Ways," will share his songwriting journey and perform some of his acclaimed tracks.
Closing the event on Saturday, Sept. 13, Rissi Palmer will engage in a conversation with music journalist Jewly Hight about her impactful career in country and roots music. Palmer's advocacy for Black roots in music has been pivotal, and her upcoming EP, "Perspectives," is highly anticipated.
All programs are included with museum admission and are free for museum members. Limited seating is available, and program tickets are required for entry.
