21st Annual Capital City Kids Triathlon: Fostering Health, Confidence, and Community Spirit in Carson City

The Carson Tigersharks organized the 21st annual Capital City Kids Triathlon at Mills Parks and the Carson Aquatic Facility, where young athletes aged 4 to 14 showcased their swimming, biking, and running skills. The event aimed to promote health, confidence, and sportsmanship among local youth, with parents and spectators cheering on the participants at every stage of the race. The triathlon featured varying distances for different age groups, including swimming, biking, and running courses tailored to each age category.
Children aged 4 to 6 started with a 25-yard swim, followed by a short bike ride and run. The 7-8 age group had a longer swim and bike course, while the 9-10 age group faced a more challenging swim, bike, and run. Older participants aged 11-14 tackled a 200-yard swim, a 2-mile bike ride, and a 1-mile run. The event received support from various local businesses through sponsorship packages, enabling the Carson Tigersharks swim club to offer scholarships to underprivileged youth, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder participation.
