Underdog Girvano Triumphs in $1.75-Million Distinctly Irish Trophy Race at Caymanas Park
Girvano, trained by Jason DaCosta, surprised everyone by winning the $1.75-million Distinctly Irish Trophy feature race at Caymanas Park. Despite being the underdog, Girvano, ridden by Jordan Barrett, outpaced the favorite, Funcaandun, ridden by Robert Halledeen, to claim victory in the nine-furlong race. Blue Vinyl, ridden by Dane Dawkins, finished third. DaCosta also secured another win with Himaya later in the day. Meanwhile, Anthony Nunes had a successful day with four winning horses, including Fernando, Platinum Princess, Uncapture Empress, and Enthusiasm. The next race day is scheduled for Saturday.
