Rock and Roll Carnival: The Go-Go's Charity Concert for Musack

Three members of The Go-Go’s recently performed at a private backyard charity concert in Los Angeles to support the Musack organization. The event, known as the Rock and Roll Carnival, aims to provide underprivileged kids and teens with musical instruments and support for music education. The Go-Go’s guitarist Jane Wiedlin, keyboardist/guitarist Charlotte Caffey, and drummer Gina Schock, along with special guest singers, entertained the audience with a set of the band’s iconic songs.

The concert featured celebrity guest singers such as Lisa Loeb, Kay Hanley, Kathleen Hanna, Margaret Cho, Thomas Lennon, and Jack Black. The performers delivered energetic renditions of The Go-Go’s hits, including classics like “Vacation,” “We Got the Beat,” and “Head over Heels.” The event also included covers of songs like Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” and deep cuts from The Go-Go’s discography.

The lineup of performers showcased a diverse range of talent, with Fred Armisen joining the group on bass and other notable musicians like Lynval Golding and Robyn Hitchcock taking the stage. The event was a success in raising funds for Musack, a charity dedicated to empowering young people through music education.

In addition to the charity concert, a VIP fundraising event featuring Ad-Rock, Gerald Casale, and RZA was held the day before. The Go-Go’s last full lineup performance was at the 2025 Cruel World Festival, and frontwoman Belinda Carlisle is currently promoting her upcoming solo album in Europe. Bassist Kathy Valentine, who now resides in London, recently enjoyed a trip to Paris with her daughter.
