Celebrating his birthday in style, former champion jockey Dane Dawkins showcased his exceptional skills at the race track on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Dawkins secured two impressive wins on the 10-race card, riding King’s Crown and Flybluejet to victory. King’s Crown, trained by Steven Todd, triumphed in the third race, while Flybluejet, trained by Gary Subratie, claimed the top spot in the seventh event.
In the third race, King’s Crown surged ahead to win by a length, outpacing Blu Sensation and Firecracker over six furlongs (1,200m). The victory came in a Restricted Allowance III contest for native-bred four-year-olds and upward as well as imported four-year-olds. King’s Crown crossed the finish line in a time of 1:15.3.
Flybluejet dominated the competition in the seventh event, winning by a comfortable margin of a length and three quarters in a three-year-old and upward Claiming race over five furlongs (1,000m) round. Flybluejet crossed the finish line ahead of Milos and Midnight Flight, clocking a time of 1:02.1.
Dawkins, a former champion jockey who claimed the title in 2022, showcased his enduring passion for the sport with his double win on his birthday. The victories not only added to his impressive track record but also served as a fitting celebration of another year of life for the talented rider.
