Project Runway Season 21 Episode 7 Recap: Streetwear Showdown and Elimination Drama

Project Runway Season 21 is in full swing with drama, tears, and fabulous designs. The competition is heating up as the remaining seven contestants battle it out for the win. The latest episode kicks off with the elimination of Madeline Malenfant, leaving Antonio Estrada and Belania Delay safe for another round.
The challenge for this episode is elevated streetwear, pushing the designers out of their comfort zones. Yuchen Han, known for his streetwear designs, takes a risk with an ambitious plan. Meanwhile, Ethan Mundt and Veejay Floresca face challenges adapting to the theme. The designers head to the streets of NYC for inspiration, but the pressure is on to deliver.
As the designers race against the clock to complete their looks, tensions rise. Joan spends her entire budget on fabric, risking not having a backup plan. Yuchen struggles to execute his vision, falling behind on his design. With the runway show approaching, Ethan faces a breakdown, but receives support from his fellow designers.
On the runway, the judges, including Christian Cowan and supermodel Joan Smalls, critique the designs. Belania impresses with her Audrey Hepburn-inspired look, earning her second win of the season. Antonio also receives praise for his design. However, Yuchen and Joan land in the bottom two, facing harsh criticism from the judges.
Law Roach expresses his disappointment in Yuchen's streetwear design, calling it "terrible" and comparing it to a knockoff Balenciaga. Yuchen apologizes for falling short of expectations, leaving the judges with a tough decision. In the end, the judges must decide who will be eliminated from the competition.
Project Runway airs on Freeform every Thursday at 10 PM/ET and is available for streaming on Hulu the following day. Stay tuned to see if Yuchen or Joan will be cut from the competition in the next episode.
