Supporting the Community: The Rising Tide Fan Club Faces Financial Challenges

The Rising Tide fan club has been providing free access to the soccer fields at the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex for several months. However, the future of this community benefit is uncertain as the funds have run out. More than 240 athletes have been participating in the soccer nights, which have grown in popularity since they began in mid-May. The Rising Tide relies on sponsors for funding, but with the funds depleted, they are unable to continue hosting the events.

Shey Gibson, a member of The Rising Tide, mentioned that they have had to pause the soccer nights due to financial constraints. Despite holding fundraising events, the club is struggling to cover the expenses associated with the soccer nights. The recent session held on Wednesday may have been the last one for the time being. The Rising Tide, known for supporting the USL professional soccer team, Monterey Bay FC, emphasizes the importance of giving back to the community.

In a final attempt to raise funds and support their team, The Rising Tide is planning to travel to Oakland to cheer on MBFC as they face Oakland Roots. The fan club's dedication to both enjoying soccer and contributing to the community is evident in their efforts to continue providing access to the soccer fields at the Salinas Regional Soccer Complex. Despite the current financial challenges, The Rising Tide remains committed to supporting their team and fostering a sense of community through soccer.
