Experience the Excitement: Highlights from the 24th Annual Rhode Island Chinese Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival

The 24th Annual Rhode Island Chinese Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival took place at Pawtucket's Festival Pier, attracting a large crowd of spectators. The festival showcased Asian culture, featuring the Taiwan Acrobatic Troupe known for their impressive balancing skills and lively performances. Colorful fiberglass Taiwanese-style dragon boats, gifted from Taiwan, were used in the dragon boat races held on the 200-meter course along the Pawtucket River, with three boats racing at a time.

The races saw participation from organized club teams from the northeast as well as community-based teams, adding to the competitive spirit of the event. In addition to the thrilling races, attendees enjoyed a variety of Asian food trucks and vendors, along with the Taste Of Taiwan experience. The festival also included special appearances such as Rhode Island FC’s mascot, Chip, and interactive activities for children and families to enjoy.
