Glen Powell takes on the role of a disgraced college quarterback looking to make a comeback in the new Hulu series, Chad Powers. The show's first trailer was released recently, showcasing Powell's character, Russ Holliday, who decides to disguise himself as "Chad Powers" to join the South Georgia football team after a career-ending mistake. Inspired by the movie Mrs. Doubtfire, Powell's character adopts a West Virginian persona to hide his true identity.
The series, produced by former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning, features Eli Manning himself in a guest appearance as a rival coach. The concept of the "Chad Powers" character was created by Eli Manning in 2022, when he disguised himself during walk-on tryouts for the Penn State football team. Alongside Powell, the show also stars Steve Zahn as the coach of the South Georgia team, with Toby Huss, Clayne Crawford, and Wynn Everett in supporting roles, as well as various cameos from the college football world.
