Racing Through the Green Mountains: A Cyclist's Journey at the Green Mountain Stage Race

The Green Mountain Stage Race is a popular event that draws participants of all ages and skill levels from around the world. Grace Nottingham, a cyclist from Richmond, Virginia, has been participating in the race for three years and finds it to be a rewarding experience. The race consists of four stages, with stage three covering approximately 65 miles. Supporters gather along the final hill to cheer on the cyclists, creating a festive atmosphere.
A group of racers from Quebec is proud to represent Canada at the event, noting the high level of competition at the race. The challenging Appalachian Gap stretch features steep inclines of up to 20 percent, testing the riders' endurance and skills. Nottingham encourages others to give cycling a try, emphasizing that the sport can be as challenging or enjoyable as one makes it.
Stage four of the race traditionally takes place in Burlington, but this year it will be held in Canaan, New Hampshire, due to construction. As the race nears its conclusion on Labor Day, Nottingham reflects on the past two years and expresses gratitude for the experiences and friendships she has gained through cycling. The event has been a highlight for Nottingham and her team, showcasing the camaraderie and excitement of competitive cycling.
