Eric Clapton's Three-Day Trip: A Psychedelic Journey at The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Listening Party

The Beatles, unlike some other rock bands of their time, were not known for their wild partying and substance use. However, there was one memorable night when Eric Clapton had a three-day trip after attending a listening party for The Beatles' album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The party included psychedelic substances, and Clapton ended up taking some very strong drugs given to him by a member of The Monkees.
In his autobiography, Clapton described the start of his three-day trip after taking the pills called STP at the party. He stayed high for three days, experiencing intense hallucinations and struggling to sleep. Clapton credited his girlfriend Charlotte for guiding him through the trip and preventing him from going mad. Despite the intense experience, he eventually came out of it unscathed.
