Each week, we give you, the fans, the opportunity to vote for the game that will kick off the show on Friday night. This week's nominees include classic rivalries and matchups between unbeaten teams in the 3A division.
In the 29th annual "Tukee Bowl," Mountain Pointe will face off against Desert Vista in a rivalry game that has seen Mountain Pointe emerge victorious in the last three meetings. Both teams are looking to make a statement this season, with Mountain Pointe under new head coach Jon Roberts and Desert Vista led by second-year head coach Jake McSpadden.
Another historic rivalry game features the Fire Birds and the Sabercats, two programs with a rich history of producing football talent. Both teams are coming off losing seasons and are eager to prove themselves this year. Chapparal is led by first-year head coach Trace Carroll, while Saguaro is coached by Darius Kelly in his second season.
In a matchup between two unbeaten 3A teams, the Yellow Jackets will take on Valley Christian, with both teams boasting strong defenses that have only allowed 14 points in their first two games. The Yellow Jackets will have their hands full containing Valley Christian's standout wide receiver Asher Hanzal. Coached by Jake Petersen, Valley Christian will look to maintain their winning streak against Blue Ridge, led by coach Eric Hjalmarson.
