Introducing the Dark Horse R Series: A New One-Make Racing Series Coming to Australia in 2026

A new one-make series featuring Dark Horse Rs will debut in Australia next year as part of the SRO’s SpeedSeries lineup. 21-year-old Kiss will be making his national level racing debut in the series after previously competing in karts, Nissan Pulsars, and NSW Production Touring Cars. Kiss and his father decided to join the series after seeing the Ford Mustang Dark Horse R at a practice day and purchasing one from Andrew and George Miedecke. Kiss's interest in racing was sparked by his father's involvement in motorsport, leading him to race a Subaru, a HSV GTS, and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X before joining Mustang Cup Australia. The series offers Kiss the opportunity to race in a rear-wheel-drive, one-make formula with factory-built cars and accessible parts. He aims to gain experience and have fun competing against strong competition in the upcoming season. The first batch of Ford Mustang Dark Horse Rs is en route to Australia from the United States, with 12 cars expected to arrive in Sydney in October for the start of the 2026 season at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on March 27-29.
