McDonald’s Reintroduces Extra Value Meals: Affordable Options for Budget-Conscious Customers

McDonald’s is making a comeback by reintroducing Extra Value Meals to attract budget-conscious customers. The popular incentive, which offers savings on a meal combo, is making a return on September 8 after being discontinued in 2019. The chain is launching two Extra Value Meal options in September and November, priced at $5 for breakfast and $8 for lunch/dinner, along with the standard eight Extra Value Meal choices that provide customers with a 15% discount.
Joe Erlinger, the president of McDonald’s USA, emphasized the company's commitment to offering value and affordability to its customers. McDonald’s has been striving to entice budget-conscious customers back for over a year by discontinuing the $5 Meal Deal in 2024 and introducing the McValue menu in January 2025, which included a buy-one, add-one-for-$1 deal. Recently, McDonald’s leadership assured franchisees of financial support if they lowered prices.
Customers can enjoy a variety of Extra Value Meal options throughout the day, from breakfast to dinner, all offering a 15% discount compared to purchasing items separately. The menu includes a range of entrees, sides, and drinks to cater to different preferences and appetites.
