Roger Waters Criticizes Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath: A Look at Their Musical Feud

Roger Waters recently shared his thoughts on the late Ozzy Osbourne, stating that he was never a fan of the heavy metal icon. Despite the tributes pouring in for Osbourne after his passing, Waters made it clear that he did not appreciate Osbourne's music or his work with Black Sabbath. Waters also criticized Osbourne's involvement in the reality show, The Osbournes, calling it "idiocy."
Waters expressed his disinterest in Black Sabbath's music as well, mentioning that he had no interest in their shock value antics like biting the heads off animals. He referenced Osbourne's infamous incidents of biting the head off a dove and a bat during his solo career. Despite Waters' criticism, Osbourne was a lifelong fan of Pink Floyd, even naming 'Money' as one of his favorite rock songs and praising their album Obscured By Clouds.
Interestingly, Waters had previously dismissed Black Sabbath's debut single, 'Evil Woman', in 1970, describing it as underwhelming. Despite Waters' opinions, Osbourne's legacy in rock and roll is undeniable, with inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for both Black Sabbath and his solo career. Osbourne's final show with Black Sabbath, Back to the Beginning, showcased his enduring influence in the world of hard rock.
