Street Racing Bust in Pitt County: Three Arrested and Vehicles Seized

The Pitt County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of potential illegal street racing near Saintsville Road, Briley Road, and Alpine Taylor Road. Deputies arrived at the scene around 11:26 PM, leading to the seizure of three vehicles and the arrest of three individuals. Participants initially attempted to flee but later cooperated with the investigation after realizing the road was blocked off.
Under N.C.G.S. 20-141.10 Street Takeover, three vehicles modified for drag racing were confiscated, along with a firearm. The arrested individuals, Timothy Antonio Atkinson, Terry Lee Cox, and Wren Santwon Wilkins, were charged with Misdemeanor Street Takeover. Atkinson, who holds a concealed carry permit, was also cited for not informing deputies about the firearm as required by law. All three were taken before a magistrate, received $1,000 secured bonds, and were subsequently released.
The ongoing investigation is expected to result in additional charges as the Pitt County Sheriff's Office continues to pursue the case.
