The Ketamine Queen: Woman to Plead Guilty in Matthew Perry's Overdose Case

A woman known as the "Ketamine Queen" is expected to plead guilty for selling Matthew Perry the drug that caused his death. Jasveen Sangha, a US and UK citizen, will change her plea to guilty for five federal charges, including providing the ketamine that led to Perry's overdose. Prosecutors had labeled Sangha as a prolific drug dealer, and she is set to plead guilty to maintaining a drug-involved premises, distributing ketamine, and distributing ketamine resulting in death. The plea deal comes after a year-long investigation following Perry's death on October 28, 2023.
If Sangha pleads guilty as planned, she could face up to 45 years in prison. The judge will schedule her sentencing, and prosecutors will request a sentence less than the maximum. Sangha's co-defendants, including Dr. Salvador Plasencia, have also pleaded guilty in exchange for cooperation. Perry's assistant found him dead in his Los Angeles home, with the medical examiner attributing his death to ketamine. Sangha, who portrayed a lavish lifestyle on Instagram, sold large amounts of ketamine to Perry before his death.
Perry had been using ketamine for depression treatment, seeking more from Sangha after his doctor limited his supply. Sangha, who dealt with high-end clients, sold Perry 25 vials of ketamine for $6,000 in cash shortly before his death. On the day of Perry's passing, Sangha instructed Fleming, a friend of Perry, to delete their messages. Sangha has been in federal custody for about a year, while Perry had struggled with addiction for years, even during his time on the popular TV show "Friends."
