The Avalanche's team dog, Maxy, had the honor of performing the ceremonial puck drop, and Avalanche defenseman Devon Toews joined the players on the bench during the game.

In an exciting match, the Denver Police Department emerged victorious with a 7-4 win, securing the trophy for the fourth consecutive year. Following the game, the Avalanche generously donated $7,500 to both the Denver Fire Foundation and the Denver Police Foundation, showing their support and appreciation for the hard work and sacrifice of these first responders.
