Highlander Remake Casts Djimon Hounsou: Meet the Star-Studded Lineup
Highlander, the Amazon MGM remake of the 1980s cult classic, has added Djimon Hounsou to its star-studded cast. The film, directed by Chad Stahelski, features Henry Cavill in the lead role of Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish warrior. Russell Crowe plays Ramirez, a swordsman who aids MacLeod in his battles against other immortals. Hounsou will portray an immortal warrior from Africa in the action fantasy movie, which is set for a theatrical release with principal photography starting in September. The cast also includes Dave Bautista as the villainous Kurgen, Karen Gillan as MacLeod's wife, and Marisa Abela as his modern romantic interest.
Hounsou, known for his acclaimed performances in films like "Amistad," "In America," and "Blood Diamond," has a diverse filmography that includes roles in Marvel and DC movies, as well as other sci-fi and thriller projects. His upcoming projects include a Sony Pictures thriller and "Red Card" opposite Halle Berry. Hounsou is represented by Buchwald, Range Media Partners, and Nelson Davis.
