During his time in the Western Hockey League (WHL), Leason amassed 140 points in 190 games with Tri-City and Prince Albert. He played a key role in helping Prince Albert win the 2019 WHL championship and was named to the WHL First All-Star Team after a standout season. Leason also represented Canada at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship, where he contributed five points in five games.
