Remembering Allen Blickle: The Original Drummer of Baroness

We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Allen Blickle, the original drummer of Baroness. Allen, along with John Baizley, Tim Loose, and Summer Welch, co-founded the band in 2003. He played on their early EPs and the first three albums before leaving after a bus crash in 2012.

Baroness has not yet released a statement regarding Allen's death, but a tribute was shared by Laura Pleasants of Kylesa, a fellow band from Savannah, Georgia. Allen was 42 years old at the time of his passing, and the cause of death has not been disclosed.

Following his time with Baroness, Allen pursued other musical projects, including the electronic pop group Alpaca and drumming for A Place to Bury Strangers. He later formed the soul duo Romantic Dividends, who released their debut album earlier this year.
