Highlights from the 24th Annual Americana Music Honors & Awards in Nashville
The Americana Music Honors & Awards celebrated its winners at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Sierra Ferrell won artist of the year, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats won album of the year for "South of Here," and I’m With Her won song of the year for "Ancient Light." MJ Lenderman was named emerging artist of the year, and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings won duo/group of the year. Alex Hargreaves received instrumentalist of the year.
In addition to the competitive awards, the Americana Music Association presented lifetime achievement awards to Old 97’s, Joe Henry, and Darrell Scott. The McCrary Sisters received the Legacy of Americana Award. Jesse Welles was honored with the Spirit of Americana Free Speech in Music award by John Fogerty.
The 24th annual Americana Honors & Awards took place during the AmericanaFest conference in Nashville. The event was hosted by John C. Reilly and featured performances by Margo Price and others. The show was broadcast live on NPR’s YouTube channel and SiriusXM, with a condensed version to air on PBS’ "Austin City Limits" series.
The Americana Music Honors & Awards showcased the best in Americana music and recognized outstanding artists in the genre. Congratulations to all the winners and honorees for their contributions to the music industry.
