Pittsburgh Penguins Ready to Shine at Annual Prospects Challenge in Buffalo

The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to compete in the annual Prospects Challenge in Buffalo, New York for the fourth consecutive season. The tournament will take place from September 11-15 at LECOM Harborcenter, featuring five teams including the Penguins, Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and New Jersey Devils. Pittsburgh will play three games, starting with the Bruins on September 12 at 3:30 PM, followed by the Blue Jackets on September 14 at 3:30 PM, and ending with the Sabres on September 15 at 12:00 PM. The Penguins' roster for the tournament will include 24 players, comprising 14 forwards, eight defensemen, and two goaltenders. The team will be coached by Kirk MacDonald, Nick Luukko, Brad Malone, and Ryan Papaioannou. Notable players to watch include Ben Kindel, the 11th overall pick in the 2025 draft, along with other 2025 draft picks like Brady Peddle, Gabriel D’Aigle, and more.
Returning prospects Ville Koivunen and Owen Pickering, who had stints with the Penguins last season, will also be part of the team. The lineup will feature promising forwards like Avery Hayes, Tristan Broz, and Atley Calvert, defensemen Harrison Brunicke and Emil Pieniniemi, and goaltender Sergei Murashov. Some players will be making their Prospects Challenge debuts, while others like Max Graham and Nolan Renwick will be looking to make an impact.
