Unfortunately, McCartney was on a Scottish holiday when Hendrix reached out, and the collaboration never materialized. Hendrix's untimely death in 1970 dashed any hopes of this supergroup coming together. The potential partnership between Hendrix and Davis, two boundary-pushing musicians, would have been phenomenal, according to Hendrix's engineer Eddie Kramer. Additionally, Hendrix expressed admiration for jazz icon Nina Simone, hinting at another missed opportunity for a unique musical collaboration. It's a shame that these potential partnerships never came to fruition.
