Global Citizen Festival 2025: Uniting Music and Action for a Better World

Global Citizen has unveiled the lineup for its 2025 annual free benefit concert, set to take place on the Great Lawn of Central Park in New York on September 27. The event will be hosted by Global Citizen ambassador Hugh Jackman. Headlining the festival this year are The Weeknd and Shakira, with performances by Tyla, Ayra Starr, and Mariah the Scientist also on the bill. The 2025 Global Citizen Festival campaign focuses on key objectives, including providing energy access for one million people in Africa, ensuring quality education and football for 30,000 children worldwide in collaboration with FIFA, protecting 30 million hectares of the Amazon rainforest, and registering 40,000 New Yorkers to volunteer across the city.
Shakira expressed her excitement about headlining the festival, stating that music has always been her way of connecting with people and making a difference in the world.
