Uncovering the Truth: The Urgency of Releasing the Epstein Files for Justice and Transparency

President Donald Trump has been dismissing the Epstein files as a hoax, but the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse are speaking out and demanding justice. Releasing the Epstein files is a bipartisan issue that unites Americans across the political spectrum. It is about ensuring that the rich and powerful are not shielded from accountability while survivors are silenced.

The release of the Epstein files is crucial for the over 1,000 survivors and their families who have been impacted by Epstein's abuse. It is also essential for restoring public trust in government institutions and promoting transparency. By standing up to special interests and ensuring that the full files are released, we can uncover the truth about who was involved and who is being protected.

A bipartisan discharge petition led by a Republican representative and myself is gaining momentum, with 216 signatures currently and only two more needed to reach the required 218 signatures. The Justice Department's limited release of files to the Oversight Committee is insufficient, as it represents less than 1% of the total files. Passing our bipartisan bill is essential to provide answers to the survivors and the public.

Survivors of Epstein's abuse, including Marina Lacerda and Anouska De Georgiou, have bravely shared their stories and called for accountability. The government's failure to protect these survivors highlights the importance of pursuing the truth and holding those responsible accountable. Recent efforts to obtain additional documents, such as the "birthday book" from Epstein's estate, have shed light on the extent of the abuse and the need for transparency.

The refusal to release the Epstein files undermines public trust in government institutions and perpetuates a culture where the powerful can exploit and abuse with impunity. It is essential to continue pushing for the full release of the files to ensure that justice is served and survivors' voices are heard. The American people deserve transparency and accountability in the face of such egregious abuses.
