Canadian Country Music Association Awards 2022: Nominations, Performances, and Highlights
The Canadian Country Music Association is set to present its annual awards tonight in Kelowna, with breakout country singer Josh Ross and "American Idol" star Cameron Whitcomb leading the nominations. Both artists have received six nominations each, competing in categories such as fans' choice, male artist, entertainer, and single of the year. They are closely followed by Brett Kissel, Owen Riegling, and Jade Eagleson.
Josh Ross, a talented musician from Ontario, had a successful run at last year's awards in Edmonton, winning best male artist, entertainer of the year, and best single for his emotional song "Trouble." On the other hand, Cameron Whitcomb, who hails from Nanaimo, B.C., is a first-time nominee who gained recognition after reaching the Top 20 on "American Idol." His song "Quitter," a powerful track about overcoming challenges, is nominated for single of the year alongside Ross's "Single Again" and Kissel's "Let Your Horses Run."
The star-studded event will be broadcast live on CTV and will be hosted by comedian Tom Green. The evening will feature performances by Madeline Merlo, Sacha, MacKenzie Porter, and Jake Etheridge.
