He praised the trio for their exceptional musicianship and unique style, considering them one of the last great supergroups of their time. Despite not being a die-hard prog rock fan, French held ELP in high regard and recommended albums like "Tarkus" and "Pictures At An Exhibition" to those unfamiliar with the band.
