REO Speedwagon Band Members Return to Their Roots at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Homecoming Parade and Game

REO Speedwagon band members are set to make a special appearance at The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's homecoming parade on September 26. The band, which originated at the university in 1967, will have founding members Neal Doughty and Alan Gratzer, along with Bruce Hall and Kevin Cronin, participating in the festivities. Gratzer expressed his excitement about returning to Champaign, where he has fond memories of his college days and forming the band.
In addition to serving as grand marshals for the parade, REO Speedwagon members will also be featured guests at the Illinois football homecoming game against USC on September 27. They will take part in various activities, including sounding the air raid siren and performing an REO Speedwagon themed halftime show with the Marching Illini. Doughty, a former member of the Belleville High School marching band, looks forward to playing alongside the talented Marching Illini during the halftime performance.
