Recall Alert: Quality Poultry & Seafood Products Inc. Recalls 100,000 Pounds of Catfish Fillets Due to Lack of Inspection

Quality Poultry & Seafood Products Inc. has issued a recall of 100,000 pounds of catfish fillets due to the lack of inspection by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). The un-inspected fish may pose a risk of containing harmful bacteria and pathogens. The recall was initiated to ensure consumer safety and prevent any potential health hazards. The frozen catfish was sold in various establishments in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi since September 2, 2024. Consumers are advised to check their freezers for any recalled products and contact the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline for further information or concerns. Frozen fish can last indefinitely, but it is recommended to consume it within 3 to 8 months for optimal quality.
