Top Southern California Girls Volleyball Teams Compete at 30th Durango Classic in Las Vegas
Top girls volleyball teams from Southern California are heading to Las Vegas this weekend to participate in the 30th Durango Classic. The tournament will feature seven of MaxPreps' top 10 teams nationally, including Sierra Canyon, Mater Dei, Redondo Union, Marymount, and Mira Costa. Sierra Canyon, currently ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section power rankings, recently defeated Redondo Union. This event also marks the return of players who had to sit out the first half of the season due to transferring without moving, with the sit-out period ending on Sept. 13.
In addition to the volleyball action, the Ivy League football season is set to kick off on Saturday, with 39 players from Southern Section high school teams listed on Ivy League rosters.
