Denver Nuggets Roster Overhaul: New GM, Coach, and Player Acquisitions

The Denver Nuggets have been making changes to their roster after a tumultuous summer. Owner Josh Kroenke fired former general manager Calvin Booth and head coach Michael Malone due to their strained relationship. Ben Tenzer was appointed as the interim GM, while David Adelman was promoted to interim head coach. The team failed to reach the Western Conference Finals, prompting Kroenke to make Tenzer and Adelman permanent fixtures in their roles.
To bolster the team, the Nuggets traded Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. for Cam Johnson from the Brooklyn Nets and Jonas Valanciunas from the Sacramento Kings. They also signed Tim Hardaway Jr. and Bruce Brown to strengthen their wing depth. However, they lost Russell Westbrook, who declined his player option and remains unsigned.
In a recent move, the Nuggets waived guard Dane Goodwin, who was on an Exhibit 10 player deal. Goodwin, a 25-year-old swingman, has yet to play in the NBA but may join the Grand Rapids Gold, the Nuggets' NBAGL affiliate, to be eligible for a bonus. Kessler Edwards and Moses Brown are still on the roster.
The Nuggets are making strategic changes to their roster and coaching staff to improve their chances in the upcoming season. With a revamped front office and new additions to the team, they are aiming to build a competitive roster around Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray.
