Gary Busey Sentenced to Probation for Inappropriate Touching Incident at Horror Convention

Gary Busey, 81, was sentenced to two years of probation after pleading guilty to inappropriately touching a woman at a horror movie convention in 2022. The sentencing was finalized on September 18, according to court records. Busey's lawyer, Blair Zwillman, expressed his client's relief that the case has been resolved, allowing him to move forward without ongoing public scrutiny.

The case against Busey stemmed from allegations made by multiple women who accused the actor of misconduct and harassment at the Monster-Mania Con in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in August 2022. Busey faced charges of criminal sexual contact, attempted criminal sexual contact, and harassment for allegedly touching two fans inappropriately, including grabbing their buttocks and attempting to unhook a woman's bra.

Despite denying the allegations to TMZ and claiming that "nothing happened," Busey ultimately pleaded guilty to a charge related to touching a female's buttocks over her clothing. The sentencing included a prohibition on any contact with the victim and the possibility of seeking early termination after one year.

In addition to his legal troubles, Busey has faced personal challenges, including a traumatic brain injury from a motorcycle accident in 1988. He has also struggled with substance abuse issues and appeared on the reality series "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" in 2008. Busey is a father to three children from previous relationships, including son Jake, daughter Alectra, and son Luke.
