RIAJ Certifications: BTS, i-dle, IU, aespa, RIIZE, and ILLIT Achieve Streaming Milestones in Japan

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has recently announced its latest certifications for online streaming of songs. In 2020, RIAJ introduced a new certification system for streaming, in addition to its existing systems for physical album shipments and digital downloads. Under this new system, songs are certified silver at 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams. BTS received a double platinum certification for their 2017 hit “DNA,” which has now exceeded 200 million streams in Japan.

i-dle’s 2023 hit “Queencard” achieved platinum certification after surpassing 100 million streams in Japan. Additionally, IU’s 2020 collab single “eight” with BTS’ Suga, aespa’s 2024 song “Armageddon,” RIIZE’s debut track “Get A Guitar,” and ILLIT’s Japanese single “Almond Chocolate” all received gold certifications for reaching 50 million streams each in Japan. Congratulations to BTS, i-dle, IU, aespa, RIIZE, and ILLIT!

Don't miss BTS’s docu-series “BREAK THE SILENCE” with subtitles on Viki or IU’s film “Shades of the Heart.” You can also watch RIIZE’s variety show “BOSS RIIZE” on online TV streaming services.
