Cañon City High School Mountain Bike Team Triumphs at Cloud City Challenge and Prepares for Royal Gorge Rumble
The Cañon City High School mountain bike team had a successful weekend at the Cloud City Challenge in Leadville, securing first place once again. Despite challenging weather conditions, the athletes showcased their skills in their vibrant neon gear. The team members supported each other throughout the race, volunteering and celebrating at the finish line.
Standout performances came from TJ Evagash, Heidi Numsen, Saioa Paternain-Hernandez, Erin Sallie, Charissa Fourtner, Hannah Numsen, CJ O’Hara, Holden Eckstrom, Bryce LeDoux, and Dietrich Smith. Holden Eckstrom also set a remarkable time for the team's fastest lap.
Looking ahead, the team is gearing up to host the upcoming Royal Gorge Rumble on October 4-5 in Cañon City.
