Rancho Cordova Welcomes New MASL Soccer Teams and State-of-the-Art Arena

Exciting news for soccer fans in the Sacramento area as the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) has approved the addition of new men's and women's expansion teams to the Sacramento-Cordova region. This expansion comes alongside plans for a new arena in Rancho Cordova, which will serve as the home base for the new teams. MASL Commissioner Keith Tozer expressed enthusiasm for the market in Rancho Cordova, citing the region's strong support for soccer and growing passion for the sport.

The proposed arena in Rancho Cordova is set to be a centerpiece of an entertainment district located on Kilgore Road, just south of Highway 50. The arena will have a seating capacity of 7,500 and will be surrounded by hotels, a retail dining district, a cardroom, and residential units. This development aims to create a vibrant hub for sports and entertainment in the area, catering to both local residents and visitors.

With the addition of the Sacramento-Cordova expansion teams, California will now have three MASL clubs, joining Ontario and San Diego in the league. The MASL currently consists of twelve teams across the United States and Mexico, playing in arenas of various sizes. The new Rancho Cordova arena will provide a modern and dynamic venue for soccer matches and other events, enhancing the region's sports infrastructure.

The Rancho Cordova city council is scheduled to discuss the funding for the proposed arena at an upcoming meeting, signaling progress towards making the project a reality. As soccer continues to gain popularity in the Sacramento area, the addition of new MASL teams and a state-of-the-art arena will further enrich the local sports scene and provide fans with exciting opportunities to support their teams.
